Momiji Japanese Buffet - City Square Mall

For our Chinese New Year family lunch last month, we went to Momiji Japanese Buffet at City Square Mall. The spread looks good but the food is so-so. Considering it's less than $30 per person, cannot hiam too much.

I enjoyed the company more than the food.

Honestly, after you've been to Japan and tried the Japanese food there.. most of the so called "Japanese food" in Singapore is a joke. The quality is horrible and the presentation is.. T_T. It's like eating Chicken rice in another country which can never compare to the original one back here in Singapore.

Hope I can get a chance to fly to Japan soon! I miss the food there!

The highlight of the meal was the free flow Haagen Daz icecream! And they have 2 of my favourite flavours! Macadamia Nut + Rum & Raisin! The other 2 flavours were Green Tea & Chocolate.

I didn't really eat much because it's mostly seafood or "filler food", but I like the scallops with mentaiko sauce a lot.

However, the quality is not consistent and some of them are not fresh.. so it's sort of a lucky draw when you order this dish. Just take the coloured clips on your table and clip it on a stick which is located beside the raw scallops. The chef will cook it and a waiter will send it to your table. Same goes to the other hot pot dishes.

The chawanmushi was quite bad.. overcooked & too salty.

The california handroll was also bad.. ingredients were of low quality & the rice is those cheap type.. -_-

Didn't even touch the desserts corner except for the bananas which I added into my ice cream to make a Banana split.

The sisters-in-law kiapping the fried food.. The squid & chicken was nice.

Free flow drinks!
Avoid the weird teas in the dispensers.. they are like sugar water. Urgh.

Shall end the post with a picture of my cousins-in-law, Marcus & Sheirse who were our flowerboy & flowergirl. :)

Happy International Women's Day!

I made reservations for lunch at Equinox for today without knowing it's International Women's Day! What a coincidence lah! Heeheehee! It's been ages since I went out with Wany alone for some girl time and I am glad we did it today!

The food is the same-old same-old stuff. I'm just interested in the creme brulee cos it's sooo good! I took 7 at first and Wany was like "SO MANY!!!", but after she tried one she said "TAKE MORE!!!". Hahahahahha! I think we ate 20 creme brulees between us! Have to grab as much as you can cos sometimes when it's finished, they don't topup this anymore and replace it with some other desserts.

We had a choice of main course each and she chose the Roast Pork Belly which was really yummy. Usually I will also choose the Pork Belly, but I was feeling adventurous so I chose the mushroom risotto.. WHICH SUCKED BIG TIME! It was too salty!

And the plating was weird! It looks like a coffin of risotto. I did not send it back and ask for something else because I didn't really have much of an appetite today and none of the main courses interest me and I rather eat the salad and my creme brulees. I used my American Express Platinum card so we got 50% off the total bill! I love the FAR benefits that comes with that card. Woohooo! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

Supper at Kko Kko Nara

Santi had a craving for Korean food so we went to Kko Kko Nara for supper! It's one of the few Korean restaurants in Singapore that's still opened after 10.30pm so we went there. It's quite expensive, but the food is quite good. I went there with Le hubby last year after we went searching for bridal gowns along Tanjong Pagar. Most importantly was I got to spend quality time with my 2 best friends together with my hubby! Super happy!! :)

Natas Fair & PS Cafe

We went to NATAS Fair at Singapore Expo today! Not to book any tours, but just to go and find Santi guniang and have dinner with her & Welly! She's working at the fair for 3 days on behalf of her company in Batam who sent her to Singapore to help sell Batam tours.

I was skeptical about people paying $4 to go into the exhibition to book a cheap Batam tour but she told me there are weirdos who do that!!!

Luckily Hallie managed to get us free tickets so we don't have to pay to go in! YAY HALLIE! It's been a long time since I last saw her and it's good to see her again! She was my ex-colleague in Namho and she was also Le hubby's tourleader when he went to Hokkaido for a holiday with Namho! What a coincidence right? Heeheehee!

We walked around the hall while waiting for Santi guniang to finish her shift. We avoided all booths of my ex-travel companies cos I didn't want to bump into nosey colleagues who I don't like. Honestly, a lot of people in the travel trade are a super bitchy and kpoh bunch and it's good to ignore and avoid them than get tangled in their crazy bitchy mess.

While walking around , I saw this promotion on one of the boards and it says you will get a free bonus gift if you book a Australia tour package with them. At first glance I thought it was abalone but upon closer look it says abalone sauce.

ABALONE SAUCE! WHATTTTT!!!!!

We headed to PS Cafe at Palais Renaissance for dinner! Both Santi & Welly have never been there before so we wanted to treat them to a nice dinner there. :) I was raving about the truffle fries all the way from Expo to Orchard.. it was also the first thing we ordered when we sat down.

However to my immense disappointment and anger, the stupid waiter did not key in our order for the truffle fries so it did not come! Worst of all, the kitchen was closed by the time I reminded him to serve the fries and they refused to cook it for us cos they claimed the deep fryer is emptied and cleaned out of oil!

SAY WHAT!!!!!!!!! Angry TTM!!

I threw a mini bitch fit cos I was really pissed off! That was the main reason why we came to PS Cafe and I was raving about it to my best friends and now they can't get to try it!! ROARRRR!!

So the manager offered us free desserts in an attempt to pacify me. He also offered free coffee and tea but we only ordered desserts. Each of us chose one dessert so it turned out to be quite a good deal. One plate of fries that was not served in exchange for 4 desserts!

Le hubby had carrot cake and Welly chose the same cherry pie as me. I wanted my favourite Key Lime Pie but it was out of stock.. Le sigh. The cherry tart was alright, but not as good as the lime pie.

The service was also not very good. And this outlet has a rule of one main course or salad per person. No sharing and you cannot just order desserts if you dine in here. Stupid right? I prefer the main outlet at Dempsey Hill. Le hubby gets free parking there too.

Anyway I had a great time catching up with my best friends today! We are also meeting tomorrow for supper after Santi guniang's shift! Wheeee!!!!! ^_^
