First thing you will see is Anpanman & Pecko's Kitchen!

The restaurant was full house with a LONG waiting list when we arrived at around 11am. You have to take a queue number and come back later.. The food looks really interesting and I wanted to try them but the estimated waiting time was 1.5hr and we decided to skip it. 1.5hr on a weekday!! Crazy!!

We went and have a look at the museum but decided not to go in cos all the exhibits are really kiddy and suitable for kids below 8 years old. 2 adults going in without a kid is quite weird.... and I am not a huge Anpanman fan, so don't waste money! Maybe next time when we have children we will bring them there!

Le hubby is really excited about the bakery because he's a "bread-boy". He really loves eating bread more than anything else.. ok maybe burgers is on top of the list followed by bread.

We ate the bread outdoors at a sitting area cos the weather was really good and it's more cooling outside than inside and le hubby wants to be out in the cold. -_-

After finishing the bread, we went to walk around the mall. It's more like a cluster of shops together. They are themed according to the category. Example: Bakery, Children's Clothes, Stationery, etc.

After we ate the bread then we realized there's lots of food options in the indoor food area... Super cute onigiri! AAAHHH! Too bad I was so full from the sandwich I had earlier plus the anpanman bun that I couldn't eat anymore.. :(

I really wanted to get one but decided not to because I have to curb my habit of buying cute & useless stuff. I stood there and stared at them intensely before walking away abruptly. I think I scared a few children and their parents. Hahahahhahaa!

Kids clothes store!

Really cute children's clothes but super overpriced. 

I really wanted to buy this.. but FOR WHAT!!! :( So I put it back.

Overall, I will recommend this place if you are a huge Anpanman fan and/or you have little children. If not, you can skip this place cos as the name suggests, it is a children's museum and mall, so it's more suitable for young children. You will need to buy a ticket to enter the museum, but the shops and restaurants are located outside the museum. 

I read that the place is really crowded on weekends, so try to visit on a weekday like we did... Even though the place wasn't that busy, the restaurant had a 1.5hr wait!! OMG. Weekends how ah? 

Day 2: Tokyo Trip (January 2016)

Truth is, I've been to Japan so many times but I don't understand Japanese at all (except for a few key words)! I tried learning but I dropped out of class because I couldn't keep up with the lessons while working the night shift. I want to continue and go back for lessons soon! 

It is very easy to navigate their subway and trains if have 3G internet with access to Google maps. Just a few years ago we had to use paper maps and learn how to navigate our way using our sense of direction. Lots of frustration because there are so many exits and it's so easy to get lost! Now all you need to do is put in your destination and Google will tell you which bus or which train to take. It even tells you which platform to take it from.. and if all else fails, just approach any trainmaster. All of them can speak very simple English. Just show them the station you want to go to and he will advise you which line to take and which platform to go to.

The first time Le Hubby and I went together we did not get a Suica/Pasmo card (similar to our EZ Link card) and had to buy tickets at each station using coins. So mafan! From our second trip onwards we got the cards and life was so much easier! Just tap tap tap and we are through! We can also use the cards to buy drinks from vending machines when we are lazy to dig for coins.

So on Day 2, we woke up early and went to Tokyo Station to meet up with Nat & Ray! Initially I told Le hubby to go ahead and meet them while I go to Shinjuku and get tickets for our trip to Hakone.. but that blur sotong got lost and arrived at Tokyo Station 15mins after I got there even though he had a 25mins headstart. Why? He board the correct train but towards the opposite direction. Kua kua kua kua..... Poor Nat & Ray had to wait for us. Sorry guys!

First up is lunch! We walked around Tokyo Station which was famous for their ramen but strangely couldn't find any ramen shop.. apparently we went to the wrong side and only stumbled on the ramen street after we finished our lunch. Bleah. The lunch we had was BAD. Seriously, not all food in Japan is good... there are bad food there and 2 bad lunches in 2 days was just horrible!!!! 

Afterwards we walked around a bit because there's so many cute character shops there!

So tempted to get this New Year Miffy Doll! (I didn't).

So many Gudetama merchandise everywhere!!

We headed back to the apartment for them to check-in and leave their luggage before heading to Sanrio Puroland! My favourite favourite place. Since 2013 I told Le Hubby I want to go back every year and so far I have! ^_^

Bought tickets for 4 people! JPY2000 per person.

It's cheaper than the full day pass cos we went in the late afternoon.

This year is Sanrio Puroland's 25th birthday!

Day 1: Tokyo Trip (January 2016)

Le hubby is always happy when we go to Japan. It's both of our favourite country and always at the top choice when we are deciding where to go for a holiday. I am really lucky cos I've been to Japan quite a number of times the past 3 years! Yay yay yay!

We arrived in the morning and since we had the full day to ourselves before Nat & Ray arrives the next day, we decided to go to Yokohama to visit the Anpanman Museum and the Cup Noodles Museum.

We took the airport limousine bus ticket instead of taking train cos it's more direct and we don't have to carry our luggage up and down the train platform stairs. A lot of train stations in Tokyo are undergoing renovations now and they are adding lifts and elevators which are really good because there used to be only stairs and stairs and more stairs so it is a pain to lug your luggage up and down. 

FIRST THING I BOUGHT!

We walked past a combi (convenience store) and I grabbed a Egg Mayo sandwich. It is the BOMB! I call it "Magic Bread". No one does bread like the Japanese! It's like eating clouds & rainbows. I just inhaled this and bought another one. Le hubby was laughing at me cos he said he never see someone enjoying bread so much. Hahahahahaha! 

Next stop.. Starbucks!

Then we walked to Anpanman Children's Museum & Mall which was 20mins away. It was a nice walk because the weather was really nice. Look at Le hubby's happy face and you know how nice the weather was cos he gets really grumpy when it's hot. Hahahahahaha!

After Anpanman Children's Museum & Mall, we walked to the Nissin Cup Noodles Museum which is a 20mins walk.

The streets were empty because it's a weekday and most people are working.

Bought tickets which was 500JPY per person.

Created our very own cup noodles!

Went for lunch at the top floor of the museum.

P.S: The food is not nice. -__-

Since lunch was so bad, we went for an early dinner at one of the combi! I love eating in combis because everything is soooo yummy! And affordable!!

Afterwards we headed to our AirBNB apartment! This is my first AirBNB in Japan because my past few trips we only stayed in hotels. I've used AirBNB since 2011 for my other holiday trips and I have good experience except for the one time I stayed with a druggie in Amsterdam. This apartment is really nice because it was in a quiet residential neighbourhood, 8mins walk from the train station and there's a lot of amenities close by. Nat & Ray booked the unit next to us which belongs to a different owner.

It is a small apartment and the 'bedroom' is actually a loft area.

No beds, just futon.. but it was comfortable! Just a bit scary climbing down the stairs.

The living room is a good size for 2 people with big luggage.

Fully furnished!

Best part was the bathroom! The tub is so high tech it talks to you! You can set the temperature and it will maintain the water temperature for you which is really awesome during winter time! It will also fill up the water to a certain level that you preset and inform you when it's done! WOW WOW WOW! I want this in my future home please!

The toilet was huge and there's a washing machine inside. Everything was new, clean and I love this apartment very much! Le hubby also liked it alot! :)

There was a food store near the train station which we call the 'Atas Chap Chye Png'. They sell noodles, rice, soups, side dishes.. awesome awedome! I love the broccoli & egg salad!

We went to Family mart to buy supper & next day's breakfast!

Super amused by the sizes of the cup noodles!
