Flowers from Le Hubby! ❤

Pretty flowers = Happy me!
〜(^∇^〜)

On 2nd May, Le hubby came to my workplace to pick me up and brought me for dinner. He also had a surprise in the backseat.. a paperbag with flowers in it! He got them from The Bloom Room and they were gorgeous! I didn't know about them until our cell group friend Annette posted pictures of the flowers she buys every week from them (she's a flower fanatic). I would have used them for my wedding if I knew about them last year. They have really super pretty arrangements!

Was it a special occasion? No.
Is my husband a romantic guy? No.

So why did he buy flowers for me?

Actually he made me upset and was desperate enough to buy flowers to try to cheer me up cos I was in down in the dumps for a whole week.. I wasn't my usual chirpy & crazy self and he got worried that I was slipping into depression... I don't think it's that serious lah.. but I was really moody & emo about some stuff. I guess the bottomline is that he's sometimes too forgetful, too obtuse and kinda oblivious about things. But that's partly why I love him because he's so honest & toot-toot. But sometimes it gets really frustrating so I will implode and get really upset.

So yea.. It's the second time he bought flowers for me! First time was when we came back from our honeymoon and he sneaked off to buy flowers for me cos I was upset at him for forgetting my birthday while we were on our honeymoon. See what I mean about him being forgetful? Sometimes I feel like he's a 60 year old man suffering from dementia. On the bright side, at least I am prepared when he really has dementia and becomes more forgetful when he gets older.

Come to think about it.. I only received flowers when I am upset!! Maybe I should be upset more often? Or I should hint command (he is so blur, he can't take a hint even if it hits him on the head) him to buy flowers for me to make me happy even when I am not upset... not just a peace offering present to cheer me up.

He was smart and he chose my favourite hydrangeas in pink! I used to love blue roses a lot until I found out they were artificially dyed and the colour will fade. Real blue roses costs a bomb! I love hydrangeas cos they are so pretty and comes in so many different colours! Only thing is they are extremely hard to take care of and even Mama Chew (with a green thumb) finds them a challenge.

Took me a few weeks to blog about it cos I am super lazy.. Heh! ( ´∀`)

There were no Instagram, Twitter & Facebook when I started blogging and now there's so many social media platforms! No matter what, I still prefer to blog because I get very long winded sometimes and 140 characters on Twitter is not enough for me. I seldom go on Facebook anymore cos I swear I become stupider and lose productivity when I scroll through the homepage. It's full of ads or nonsense shit that people like to share/post. I love Instagram cos it's just pictures and it's ad free (for now)!

Blogging allows me to freeze my thoughts from a particular moment in time. I go through my own entries every now and then to better understand what I went through in life and to remind myself to be grateful for all the blessed things I've received.

Pretty pretty flowers!
(ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

I posted this picture on Instagram. Borrowed Mama Chew's vase to put the flowers in. Took bad I could only keep them alive for 1 week before they died.. they are notoriously hard to care for, especially in our climate + my reputation of being "Jasmine the Destroyer". It's now displayed in my shelf as dried flowers. :)

Chloe!

Hello Chloe-chan! ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)

It's been a while since I went to visit Chloe. My Emama recently changed her work schedule to have Sundays off so we can go visit during the weekends.

I guess Chloe is a permanent resident at her house already. Everytime I call my Emama or goes to her house, her first sentence will be "DON'T BRING CHLOE HOME AH!". She really loves her a lot and says everyone dotes on her. Moreover she kept stressing to me that Chloe enjoys staying there and I shouldn't upset Chloe by bringing her away...
Emotional blackmail. (T⌓T)

Anyway, even if I wanted to,  I can't bring her over to Le hubby's house cos the family dog (Brownie) and Chloe don't get along. He gets really jealous of Chloe and he will pee around the house to mark his territory or become really sad & emo when people sayang Chloe or carry her. We tried it a few times when I was not working for a few months last year and it didn't work out.. So I had to leave her at my Emama's house.

It's been 10 months since she's not staying with me.. since I got married.

Guess the only reason why I want us to get our own place is because I can stay with Chloe again. I love staying with Le hubby's family but I love my dog more.. I sacrificed so much for her and now in the end she's separated from me...

(-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩___-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩) #Summertimesadness

It's been a few months since I last saw her and she gained so much weight! I had so much difficulty getting her to eat last time and her nickname was "Model" or "Anorexic dog" but now her tummy is filled out and it's so 圆圆的! She was 2.1kg in October last year.. I think she's at least 3 kg now. That's a 50% gain of body mass!

\( ̄□ ̄)\ Don't know if I should be happy or worried that she's gonna be obese soon.

My current top 3 catchphrases are:
  1. Summertimesadness
  2. Dodgy dodgy
  3. 圆圆的
You have to say them in a singsong manner which I don't know to put into words. Hahahahaha!

I was wondering why she was walking in a weird manner until I realized her nails were crazy long until it curved inwards! My Emama don't dare to cut her nails for her because she is afraid of hurting her cos she says that Chloe cannot sit still. Told her I can flip Chloe on her belly and cut her nails and she was shocked cos she cannot believe that the little devil can be so well-behaved.

So I flipped Chloe over and started trimming her nails while she sat there quietly... and my Emama flipped out cos she was so surprised and amazed by how docile Chloe was! She even took out her camera and filmed the process + take many pictures.

My Emama is really funny... ヾ(´・ ・`。)ノ” Hahahhaha!

Le Hubby joined in and also took pictures of me and Chloe. I couldn't see her face cos I was concentrating on cutting her nails, but Le hubby said she has a super cute happy face and want me to see it later..

Look at her happy face! Awww!

Kisses for mummy!
(ɔˆ ³(ˆ⌣ˆc)

She gets temperamental sometimes and I know she's upset with me when she refuses to lick me. Whenever I ask her for a kiss she will lick me happily, but when she's angry with me she will point her head at the other direction and refuse to look at me. Talk about dramamama dog. She gets angry with me last time because I had to work long hours and neglect her.. but she usually forgives me after I feed her apples and biscuits. Tsk tsk.. 实际的狗!

Chloe is a natural at photo-taking. All you need to say is "Chloe! Take picture! SMILE!!!". She will smile and sometimes even tilt her head in her signature cute pose, unless she's in a pouty mood then she will ignore me. She can be a diva sometimes.. My Emama's dog (Yuki) is extremely camera shy.

Melissa Shoes!

Look at what came in the mail yesterday...... NEW SHOES!!!!!

ヽ(^Д^)ノ 1, 2, 3, 4.... YAYYYY!!

All my shoes are bought overseas. I love buying shoes overseas because it's easier to find my size (I wear a 10) and it's much cheaper than Singapore!

I already gave up on shoe shopping in Singapore years ago cos it is so depressing. It truly is.

The first thing I look out for is not the design or the price, but the size. No point choosing shoes if they don't carry your size right? Through painful elimination, there's probably less than 5 places in Singapore where I can shop for shoes.. and it's not cheap. I used to go shoe shopping with Wany but I gave up cos that woman wears a size 7 and she can buy shoes anywhere easily!!! Makes me so emo when I cannot find what I want. Even my Ferragamo shoes have to be bought in Perth because the local stores don't carry my size. Urgh.

I love shoe shopping abroad! I always hit the shoe shops when I am in an ang-moh country cos there are so many choices! And the best thing is.. they are all quite cheap! I've bought AUD5 shoes from Perth, USD10 shoes from branded stores in USA (NineWest, Clarks, etc) and RM15 shoes from Malaysia (Vincci). Whenever I see something nice + in my size + cheap, I will buy a lot! Same design, different colour.. just whack! The most I've ever bought was 12 pairs of shoes on one trip! It was a nightmare trying to pack them into my luggage!

I was checking through my shoe stash (yes, I have an actual shoe stash where I keep all my new shoes), the other day and I was horrified to find that I only have 2 new pairs of shoes because I've not bought shoes in a long time!! I went to JB City Square's Vincci and they are closed! I am not sure if they are closed for renovation or really closed down for good.. but there goes the nearest place I can visit physically to stock up on cheap shoes! ლ(´﹏`ლ)

I was emoing around and singing #summertimesadness (my favourite past-time when something upsets me).. then I had a sudden thought to visit the Melissa website to see if I can find any nice shoes... and I did! I found 11 pairs of shoes within an hour!! Took me a long time to whit down the selection to just 4 pairs because it is not really cheap to ship shoes in since the shipping companies charge by volumetric weigh over the actual weight if it's bulky. Le hubby helped me narrow down the choices because it was so hard to cut out 7 pairs from my original selection.. but I did it! Bwahahahahhaha!!

So guess how much I paid for the 4 pairs of shoes?

Including shipping from USA to Singapore, I only paid a total of slightly over SGD200 for all 4 pairs!

It's a steal considering there's 2 limited edition designs (Jason Wu & Vivienne Westwood). I think Orchard Ion sells a pair for $160? I am not sure what is the exact price but the last time I visited the store I nearly fainted cos it's sooooo expensive and overpriced! Moreover they don't have all the latest designs in the store, unlike the website!

Actually the website is not super duper cheap, but all the designs I chose were 50%-70% off cos there were limited sizes left... heh heh heh! Having big feet is good cos all the common sizes were sold out and they were trying to lelong the odd sizes like the large size 10 and the small size 3 & 4.. I asked a few of my friends to go and see but they couldn't find anything they like cos all of them have average size feet (6,7,8).

The shoes fit me perfectly cos I know what size I wear! :)

In January when I went to US to accompany my sister for 2 weeks before her exchange program, I bought a pair of Jason Wu x Melissa shoes at the factory outlet mall because my trusty fake-Ugg boots which I bought for AUD10 in Perth 6 years ago had a super big hole while we were walking around and the sole was literally falling off! She was horrified that I can walk around without realizing how badly torn my shoes were, but I guess I was living in denial.

I was so sad to throw it away because it has travelled around the world with me to Japan, Korea, Paris, London... but I had to because my sister forced me to it was irreparable.. And honestly for AUD10, it is super good value. Plus given my track record for being a destroyer of things, or as Nat likes to call me "Destructive force of nature", it lived a life longer than expected.

Wedding dinner at Mandarin Orchard

Attended a wedding dinner at Mandarin Orchard last night. The bride is Le hubby's cellgroup friend and she's one of the quietest person I've ever met in my life. She is so quiet, she just blends and melts into the background... Considering how petite and slim she is, it makes it easier for her to "disappear".

Saw her last night in her gown & makeup and it's really a big transformation! She looked really pretty and though she was still super quiet.. at least she doesn't melt into the background yesterday cos she was the star of the night! :) She's one of those brides that look really different from their everyday look, in good way.

The ballroom was quite interesting cos it has different levels & tiers instead of being on a level surface. The stage is around 4 flights of stairs down. Interesting concept, but I wouldn't have survive trotting down the stairs in a pouffy gown & high heel shoes several times during the dinner. I would have tripped & fall... -_-"

Our table only had 5 people, including Le hubby. Wei Hao, Annette & Janice, all belongs to our cellgroup. 2 of the missing 5 couldn't make it at the last minute because of their children, so they asked Le hubby to help them give angbao to the bride. We walked around Mandarin Gallery a few times trying to hunt down the stupid ATM machines that were moved away from their original positions. The other 3 empty seats were a mystery because none of us know who the seats are for.

Don (far left) joined us for a while to chit-chat. He thinks our table is too empty and came to fill it up for a while. He's super funny!!!! OMG. (。≍ฺ‿ฺ≍ฺ)

Picture with the bride & groom! Too bad it's blurry... stupid photographer is useless!!

Le hubby downloaded this new photo app that makes pictures look "cool"..
So here's a "cool" picture of the 2nd last dish.. Hahhaha!

My outfit of the day! #OOTD

I super love my new dress from Dorothy Perkins! I bought it online at the UK website and shipped it to Singapore (with a few of other dresses) because even with the shipping fees included, I saved around $15-$20 per dress! Yes, yes.. #AuntyMax... but I don't see the point in not saving money when there's a chance to. To ensure the dresses fit, I went to the local Dorothy Perkins (at Bedok Mall.. haha!) to try on the sizes and the cutting before I order them online. I've ordered clothes online which looks good in pictures but the cutting and the material is super cannot make it! So now if I were to buy clothes online, I make sure I try them out first in the local stores before going online to buy them... provided that the clothes are still cheaper when I include in the shipping fees.

There are local websites that sell super cheap clothes but I seldom buy from them because firstly they are mostly "free size" (which is bullshit. There's no such thing as FREE SIZE), or comes in S/M/L sizes which are so small I can barely fit it over my head. Secondly, the cutting & material is not as good as the better brands. You really get what you pay for!

I also realized that UK brands are much better than US brands. My personal opinion.. cos I was looking through my cupboard and found out that the clothes I am still wearing on a daily basis are 90% bought from UK brands! Even the dresses I bought 2 years back in London & Manchester are still in use! The clothes I bought from US are mostly gone (given away or thrown away). So nowadays I seldom buy US brands (Forever21, etc), I mostly buy UK brands (Dorothy Perkins, Warehouse, etc).

This is the 3rd time I am wearing my pretty but painful heels. First time was during our wedding photoshoot, second time during the wedding weekend and last night! I really hate wearing heels even though they are so pretty. They are unhealthy, painful and so impractical! All my shoes are ballet flats or pumps. I hate any type of shoes that have any heels in it. Mainly because I love comfort over looking chio, especially when it comes to my feet cos I get super grumpy when my feet hurts. And partially because I am so tall already, wearing 4 inch heels kinda makes me look even bigger than I already am in real life. #amazonwarrior

Actually, I have another wedding to attend this Saturday but it was cancelled a month ago. The groom decided to call off the wedding so close to the wedding date! I really pity and can empathize with the anguish the bride (my friend) is feeling now because they were together for a long time and it's cruel of him to break off the wedding so close to the actual date when everything has been confirmed. Super long story which is sort of typical in the world we live in today. Might blog about it when I am in one of my pensive or ranting mood. Not today.. I am crazy tired from the hectic work week. Gonna crash & sleep. Good night!

Le hubby baked a cake for me! ❤

Le hubby baked a cheesecake for me! FINALLY!
(✌゚∀゚)☞

A few years ago, while we were still friends, I saw him posted on Facebook pictures of a Blueberry Cheesecake that he baked. I forgot how long it was until I went to his FB account to look for the pictures. It was back in February 2010, so that's more than 4 years ago!

I print-screened the pictures he posted...

I forgot that I commented on his album until I scrolled down and saw them! Wow! Time really flew pass so quickly! We were just good friends back then and now he is my husband! EEEEEKKK! Sometimes it's so surreal when I think about our journey from strangers - classmates - good friends - couple - husband & wife.

As you can tell from the comments, I am not a Mcdonald's fan since way back and unfortunately he loves fast food. A lot. Whenever we go out, it's always Mcdonald's or Carl's Junior. Urgh. I have to force him to go and eat other food cos I really don't like fast food. After hanging out with me he discovered new places for food.. hahaha!

His best friend Clement also wanted to bake, so the two boys went to buy the ingredients on 1st May which was a public holiday, and came back home to bake. The weather was so hot that day so I hid in our room (with the air-con!!) while they were at the kitchen doing the baking.

Tadah! The yummy cheesecake!
o(〃^▽^〃)o
.
He did not butter the side of the pan so it did not come off smoothly, that's why it looks a bit deformed. And He added so much digestive biscuits cos he knows I love the base of the cheesecake more than the cake itself (I am very weird hor?). He was so worried that I won't like it cos it doesn't look pretty and the digestive biscuits are not uniform in height (it looks like a lot but it actually slopes down and the middle of the cake has less base).

But hey.... no matter what... my hubby, who doesn't cook doesn't clean doesn't like the heat, stayed in the kitchen for 3 hours to bake me a cake! And it's delicious! I am not biased cos his mother & sisters tried it and said it was good. It's super cheesy & gooey, just the way I like it.. and the base is so nice!

Le hubby told me it's a Kinder Bueno cheesecake, but unfortunately he don't know what happened to the Kinder Bueno.... it "disappeared" after he baked the batter! LOL! He put in 3 whole packets of Kinder Bueno into the batter but when we cut the cake, there's no traces of it at all! So strange right? I mean.. the Kinder Bueno is brown and the batter is white..... so where did it go? I asked him if he accidentally ate all the Kinder Bueno while baking cos Clement baked a Oreo cheesecake and he said he ate half of the oreo cookies before he baked the cake. Hahahahhahaha! He insisted that all the Kinder Buenos went into the batter and somehow it got absorbed and disappeared. LOL!

When I met up with Wany & Nat earlier today and told both of them that he baked a cake for me, the both of them simultaneously cheered happily and said "YAY!!!!". I was like "Ehh... what's with the cheering?" . They told me that one of the wedding vows that Le Hubby read out from the board during our gatecrash is for him to bake me a cake! I forgot about it and both of them remembered! Awwwww...

~ヾ(^∇^) Thank you Le hubby for the effort! I love you! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)
