Pet Lovers Cafe, Maylands Perth

Pet Lovers Cafe
195 Guildford Rd, Maylands
Perth WA 6051, Australia

Tabby & Doug went to Adelaide to visit family, so we were home alone with the doggies for the weekend!

Tabby told us about their Sunday routine of visiting the Pet Cafe but said that if we have other plans we can leave the dogs at home. We planned to bring the dogs there because we have nothing planned and it will be nice to spend time with the dogs doing their favourite weekend activity.

Anyone else realize how dogs somehow seem to know the time or day even though they can't read calendars? Because on Sunday morning, both of the dogs were extra excited and kept going to the main door then turning back to look at us, like hinting us that it is time to go out cos it is Sunday! So amazing lah!

Doug drove his car to the airport so we had to use Tabby's car. Thing is, she drives a Nissan Fairlady which is a 2 seater convertible car and we can't put the dogs in the backseat cos there is no backseat! Hahahahaha! I was wondering how to fit the 2 dogs in the car and she messaged me saying that Benji doesn't mind sitting on the floor and I can put Coco on my lap because that's how they travel with the dogs when they use her car..

Le hubby was initially quite skeptical when I told him what Tabby suggested on how we can all fit into the car, but somehow we managed! Yay! Luckily both of them are super well behaved and did not make a big fuss about the squeezy arrangement.

Even had time for a selfie with Coco-puff!
ღゝ◡╹)ノ♡

After driving there did we realize it's very near Mrs S cafe where we had breakfast at a few days ago!

The owners recognized the dogs but didn't recognize us... they kept hovering around and gave us quizzical looks until I said hi and introduced ourselves as Tabby & Doug's friends aka dogsitters. One of the owner told us that he recognized the dogs straightaway and thought we kidnapped them but was unsure about it because both of them are so obedient and listened to us.. Hahahahahaha!

I have never seen Benji & Coco around strangers so I don't really know how they will behave in public. After our visit to the Pet cafe, I realized that they are friendly with other people but are wary of strangers. They will let other people pet them but they will always come back and sit near us and wait for our commands.

Especially Coco. She is quite shy and prefers sticking close to me.

I asked her to go and play but she rather hide under the table beside my feet. Haha!

There was another Japanese spitz there when we visited! Tabby said it is a friend of Benji & Coco and the owner brings him there every Sunday morning so they try to time their visit for the dogs to play together.
So cute to see 3 fur balls running around!

We bought their favourite treat, white bait (ikan billis) and they went crazy over it! It is actually quite expensive.. around AUD15 for a small bag, but the quality damn good and the dogs love it.. so it's worth it lah.

Tabby said they love the puppy cakes (mini cupcakes for dogs) so I bought 2 for them. Thing is, they won't eat it off the plate. They will only eat if someone breaks the cake into smaller bite sized pieces. Haiyo! Why so spoiled ah! Haha!

Curious dog curious about my furry handphone keychain

The humans (us) need food too.. luckily the cafe serves human food! Simple but good enough to satisfy our hunger. I would have prefer Mrs S down the street but they have very limited outdoor seating available and it was Sunday morning so we did not want to risk driving there then finding out we have to wait a long time for a table outside.

All in all, an awesome Sunday spent with Le hubby and the doggies! :)

Mrs S Cafe, Maylands Perth

Mrs. S
178 Whatley Cres, Maylands
WA6051 Australia

Tabby & Doug had to work and couldn't accompany us but Tabby was so kind to lend us her car and recommended a few places we can go for breakfast. I decided to go to Mrs. S cos she was raving about the breakfast and she don't usually rave about food unless it's really good. I trust her recommendations cos she never ever disappoints.

She told us to go really early cos even though it was a Friday (25 Sep), it will be packed as the place is very popular. True enough, there were already a lot of people there buying take away coffees and having breakfast when we arrived at 7.30am!

(。’▽’。)♡
 What a pretty menuboard!!

The waitress handed us 2 children books and we were like "huh?".. Turns out the books are actually the menu! Hahahaha! What a novel and awesome idea!

The menu is not very extensive but the selection looks really good.

Here's a close up of their display table!
So many choices! (●´□`)♡

Tabby highly recommends the Lemon Curd Cake.
I totally agree and double recommend it!
It's sooooo good. (๑╹ڡ╹)╭ ~ ♡

 Here's our main courses!

I've been to many cafes in Perth and this is one of my favourite! It's busy yet not too crowded, the service is fabulous and the food is super yums! Super highly recommended if you are in Perth!

Typika Artisan Roasters, Claremont Perth

Typika Artisan Roasters
331 Stirling Hwy, Claremont WA 6010, Australia

During our short trip in Perth, we went to Typika twice! This is my number 1 favourite cafe in Perth. NUMBER ONE!!!!!!! It is a must visit place for me whenever I visit. Our first time was just the two of us, and the second time was with Tabby & Doug before our flight back home to Singapore.

The food is so good, it's unbelievable. I am not a big fan of their drinks, especially the fruit smoothies.. but the kitchen produces exceptionally delicious food.

First visit just the two of us!
Got a lovely booth seat.

As usual he ordered a burger. No matter where we go, if there's a burger item on the menu he will definately order the burger. I call him #BurgerBoy and he accept that label with pride.

Overpriced deconstructed hot chocolate.
Milk + Chocolate Sauce + Chocolate shavings

The french toast with bacon & bananas is the best in the whole world!!

Second visit with Tabby & Doug!
(Yes, Le hubby is wearing the same shirt. -_-)

Since Tabby is ordering my favourite french toast to share, I decided to try something new... I ordered the beef ribs and IT BLEW MY MIND! Omg it is soooo nice that I wanted to order a 2nd serving. I was too full, so I will be back next time!! Super super love this so much! It went straight into my Top 10 favourite food of all time. YUMS!

Mr Munchies Sushi, Perth

Mr Munchies Sushi
4/669 Beaufort Street Mount Lawley
WA6050, Australia

I can't believe I've never blogged about this place before! I stumbled onto it in 2013 when I was hungry and looking for a place nearby Tabby's house where I can get cheap and yummy Japanese food. I was scrolling through a food app and Mr Munchies was just a short 10-15mins drive away so I jumped into the car, drove here, tried the food and became a super loyal customer.

Well, as loyal as I can be since I don't actually live in Perth. LOL! I will confirm visit this place whenever I am in Perth!

This time we went in the afternoon around 3pm and it was really quiet.. It gets really busy at night during dinner time and they close quite late at 9pm.. which is late for Perth's standard. Haha!

My favourite item on the menu is the DIY sushi salad. Veggie + rice base, then add in toppings, meat and sauce.. Yums!

2nd Wedding Anniversary Trip!

♡✧。 (⋈◍>◡<◍)。✧♡
Happy 2nd Year Wedding Anniversary to us!
✧♡ ♡✧

Actually it's belated already cos our wedding anniversary was on 28 September. Hahahaha! Last year we went back to Grand Hyatt Singapore (our wedding banquet location) for a staycation celebration and I blogged about it here. This year we decided to go for a holiday! We went to Perth from 24 - 29 September 2015.

It felt so good to escape the haze because this year the haze situation is so bad, you can't even see the blue skies anymore. I actually forgot how blue skies look like because for a few weeks, the skies are perpetually grey and there's this horrible chao-ta smell that lingers and refuse to go away. Thanks ah Indonesia. Thanks.

See what I mean? This was taken at Changi Airport before our flight at 12noon. Where is the sun?? Where is the blue skies? It looks like a storm is coming but it is just hazy.

Selfie time!! ◦°˚\(*❛‿❛)/˚°◦

We have never flown on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner before and we are very excited! Hahahaha! The Airbus A380 is still the best plane IMHO, but the 787 Dreamliner is very close to the top spot in my list because it is so quiet! The noise cancelling is so awesome that we barely hear the engines at all! An awesome feature of the plane that Le hubby can't get enough of is the tinted windows. At first I saw that the windows don't have window shades and I found it weird... then Le hubby pointed out the button at the bottom and told me to press it.

1. Before pressing the button

2. Few seconds after pressing the button

 3. The final effect!
╰( ・ ᗜ ・ )╯

It really blocks out the sunlight and it's so amazing.. Ok lah.. I suaku ok? Hahahahahaha! We played with it for a while. Luckily the guy sitting at the window seat is patient with us and did not give us dirty looks. Hahahaha!

I love flying Scoot. It's my favourite low cost carrier. Actually it's not really low cost/budget to me. It's more like in between a low cost carrier and a full serviced flight. When they have promotions, the price is really really good. I got our tickets at SGD300 per person for 1 way Economy and 1 way Business (on the way back) plus baggage and seat selection!

There is no in-flight entertainment system so Le hubby loaded our phones with lots of shows and music. Plus selfies to self-entertain ourselves. #actyoungonly

Food is not included and I did not preorder any food cos I thought I won't be hungry... but when they start serving the food I decided that I was hungry (or bored.. or both) so I ordered the Braised Chicken with Rice. It is not nice. :( Overpriced too. Well, it's airline food... what can I expect right?

Arrived in Perth Airport I am so amazed by the ePassport self service option that is offered to selected nationalities (including Singaporeans!). I have not been here for more than a year and there's so many changes to the airport! The last time we visited, they were undergoing massive renovations. They have not completed their renovations yet but there's already so much improvements!

You scan your passport and a ticket is printed out. Hold onto the ticket and head to the machine where your photo will be taken and you will be let through. My tips is to remove your glasses and don't smile too much and don't move too much because apparently reject entry if the photo is not up to it's satisfaction. It's mainly work in progress lah. I was rejected on my first try and asked to go to the normal queue with the immigration officers but the queue was so long so I went back to scan my passport again to get a 2nd ticket (it works!), went back to the camera, took off my glasses and looked sternly at it.. It took my picture and let me through. LOL!

Even though it is a short trip, we brought along our full sized luggage because we are preparing to buy lots of stuff back! Well, there's a lot of things to buy in Perth! There is a box of SupaMop because my manager relocated to Perth and she did not bring her mop along. She said she tried buying similar mops in Perth but they are expensive and doesn't do the job well and when I asked her what she wanted from Singapore she said "PLEASE HELP ME BUY A MOP!". Hahahahaha!

Tabby and Doug came to the airport to pick us up! They are so sweet lah! Always willing to come and pick us up no matter what time we arrive. I remember once our flight arrived at 6am or something and they were already there waiting for us with a big smile and big hugs!

I really miss both of them a lot that's why I try to go back to Perth as often as I can because whenever they come to Singapore they are super busy hanging out with Tabby's family & relatives. Nevertheless, we always try to squeeze time for a coffee or dinner when they are in Singapore unless they are doing a short stopover before they go to Penang where most of her father's relatives are staying. Sometimes we even go over to their place and just chit chat for a while before leaving.

They brought us to Bistro Guillaume at Crown Perth Hotel. I blogged about Bistro Guillaume when we visited was in December 2013! Time flies!

As usual, Tabby & Doug over ordered! Hahahahaha! I will never ever be hungry when I am around these 2. The dinner was soooo awesome! Super love the french food here cos it tastes authentic, just like what I had in local restaurants in Paris.

Benji & Coco!
♡〜٩( ╹▿╹ )۶〜♡

My favourite, absolute favourite part about visiting Tabby & Doug's home is their 2 dogs! They are the most well-trained and sweetest dogs I ever known. Chloe should learn a thing or two from them.

Coco is the sweetest dog and somehow she prefers women to men so she stuck very close with me and eyed Le hubby suspiciously when he tries to pet her even though she has seen him before. She kept avoiding eye contact with him and kept her distance away from him... Poor le hubby. LOL!

That's the end of Day 1! More entries coming! :)
