First day of work today!

Today is my 1st day at Expedia! ೭੧(❛▿❛✿)੭೨ 

Really excited to be starting a full time job after a break of almost 9 months! I have been doing some small sideline businesses but it is good to have a stable job with a fixed monthly income! I can still do my postcard and party planning business on weekends. 

I am starting work together with 3 other newcomers and they seem like really nice people! The training will be for 2 weeks so I have to absorb as much as possible, especially since the team is using a different reservation system than my previous workplaces. 

It will be like learning a new language. ( ⚆ _ ⚆ ) Plus my brain seems to be a bit rusty so I need to really focus to get back into the groove!

Our trainer is from Scotland and she flew in specially to train us! It is her first time in Singapore so we are going to bring her out for lunch everyday to try local Singapore food! 

Expedia is an awesome company to work for because there are so many employee benefits and the office is so beautiful! We spent some time going through our employee benefits on the company's portal today and was so impressed with the staff welfare here. We also went on a tour around the office and this is by far the best office I have ever worked in! I will blog about the office again when I have more pictures!

There's a few direct buses I can take to the office and most importantly.. got seats cos my bus stop is the first few stops!! No need to stand! OMG! It is like winning a lottery.. being able to sit down while travelling during peak hours. Hahahahahaha! I totally don't miss taking the train to work cos it is so squeezy! Most of the times I couldn't even get on the train and when I can, I have to squeeze with other people. Squeezing is fine since everyone is getting to work... but there are those people with long hair who don't blowdry their hair! Imagine dripping wet hair on your clothes... 

[○･｀Д´･○] OMG I WANT TO USE SCISSORS AND CUT OFF THEIR HAIR!

And don't get me started on those people who don't bath in the morning and/or has bad body odour. Please lahhhhh.. take a shower in the morning can? And USE DEODARANT!!! So yes, very happy to be able to go to work by bus and avoiding the peak hour commutes on the trains. Heh heh heh!

Our training is from 8.30am-5.30pm every day and our trainer promised that she will let us off early if we are able to complete all the exercises on time. 

Woohooo! o(〃＾▽＾〃)o 

Looking forward to completing our training and joining the team full-time!

Pamela's wedding day!

Pamela & Ah V (Vincent) had their gatecrash and wedding banquet yesterday!

So fun to be part of a wedding celebration from a family point of view cos I was never invited for my elder cousins weddings (for the morning gatecrash) when I was younger cos of I was born in the year of the Tiger and apparently it's bad luck for the bride to have a Tiger born girl in the wedding party. So I'm only allowed to attend the wedding dinners and had to miss all the fun in the morning. Boo.

They signed their marriage certificate at ROM earlier this month. Both side parents plus Le hubby & myself went! It's my first time seeing an ROM ceremony at the place itself!

The famous flower arch I kept seeing on other people's photos.... I finally see it in real life! Hahahhaha!

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Aw!!

Pam bought a giant 双喜 word which I pasted on the stairs. It fits perfectly! Made the living room look super festive!!

Mama Chew bought really pretty flowers the day before the wedding day!

The gatecrash started at around 7am and I woke up at 6.30am.

Oops. 

Wanted to wake up earlier to help Mama Chew with the preparations but I stayed up late to prepare for a party event that's happening the very next day so I couldn't wake up. 😅

Vincent had to recite promises and vows out in Mandarin to Papa and Mama Chew before he's allowed to go up and pick his bride. 😂

The bridesmaids printed the words in 繁体字 so he had to ask his groomsmen for help. So naughty ahh!! 😂😂😂

He only had ONE job. 😡 sometimes he so blur I wanna smack him.

Checked in around 2pm+ and wanted to go for a swim at the infinity pool but didn't have time cos I had to go for my makeup.

So sad. Hope next time I'll have another opportunity again cos I've never been up at the rooftop before.

Their emcee is James Yang! Same as ours. He is THE BEST investment you can make for your wedding dinner. The difference between a memorable dinner where everyone (from young to old) is entertained instead of being bored and just waiting for the food.

You can scrimp and save on everything else but an emcee is something you cannot save on. Don't ask your friend to do it unless he is James Yang!

I was complaining to le hubby why he lock me up in the makeup room cos it is so much better mingling and saying hi to guests since there won't be much time to do so during the actual dinner. 

He diplomatically replied that I was sick back then and had to rest... and it's a surprise when guests see me during the first march in. 😑😒

The family marched in first before the bride and groom. First time I see it being done.. but Pam said it's not rare and Vincent's elder sister did it for her wedding too. 

Shy lah! Had to walk in with spotlight while hundreds of people look at you. But can relive our wedding day a bit. Hahahahahha!

I bought my dress from David Bridal. It's under the White by Vera Wang series and is actually a bridesmaid dress. 😅 I bought another long gown but the cutting was quite cui so I sent it back.

I don't like those people who like to 抢镜头 (snatch spotlight) from the bride.

I attended weddings before where the mother/mother-in-law/sister/sister-in-law/bridesmaid wear until super grand and you are left wondering who is the bride especially if you are a friend of the groom and it's been years since you all met up and you don't really know his wife. Or that one bitchy friend who wants to upstage the bride & wear until her boobs spill out and bareback until might as well go naked. 😤😤😤

Really glad to be part of her wedding and now I'm looking forward to Cheryl's or my little sister's wedding! Though for my little sister I won't be able to be an active participant due to complications of family relations. 😑

Christmas Day Party 2016!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Reusing the same decorations but this year I bought a cute little owl and added more big baubles. Unlike Nat the spendthrift Christmas fanatic, I don't see the need to have a new theme each year. Every year he bugs me about changing the theme, upsizing to a giant tree and spend more money. Since Mama Chew love purple colour we are just gonna use purple all the way. Save money, save the environment! I am a Cheapo Aunty. Hahahaha! 

As usual we have 2 rounds of feasting on Christmas Day! Afternoon is reserved for our cell group while evening is for family/friends of Papa & Mama Chew.

Just some simple takeaway food for lunch. No turkey this year cos there's always so much leftovers and it is such a pain to cook it.

The presentation for Lee Wee Nasi Lemak is really nice! And value for money too! I cooked some fried eggs to add on. 

Ordered some pastries from Paris Baguette and macarons from Bonheur Patisserie!

I think it is so nice for people to just make the effort to gather together and fellowship and also to build on our friendship. It is getting harder to make new genuine friends and also to maintain friendships at our age so I really treasure these friends of ours!

For dinner, I ordered food from Neo Garden! Used my buffet catering set so everything looks more presentable and pretty! I also asked a few of my friends over (Wany, Nat, Ray, Tim Tim) to have dinner with us. :) Pictures are in Nat's phone and he hasn't send them to me yet!!
