Update on Chloe!

If you don't already know, Chloe has become a permanent resident in Yishun and she's applying for a citizenship there. She's happily staying there and my Emama loves her to bits (spoils her too much actually) so she refuse to go home with me anymore.

Well, I am sad to 'lose' her but she is happier there and I cannot deny her happiness. Chloe loves Emama a lot and it's good to have another dog companion (my Emama's male Maltese), especially one that she can bullies.

Whenever I go to Emama's house, she will hand me the nail clipper and scissors to groom Chloe. I can flip her and make her lie on my lap and she will just lie there happily. I am the only one that can make her do this because I trained her since she was just a baby and she trusts that I will do a good job and not hurt her. She's also enjoying the attention lah. Haha!

Chloe sometimes falls asleep while I am grooming her! Hahahaha!

My Emama is standing at the corner admiring how docile she is and how she lets me cut her nails and trim the fur off her paws cos whenever she tries to do it, Chloe will squirm and wriggle away. She even takes videos of me grooming Chloe so she can show her friends how amazing that the little active furball can just lie still and don't move. Lol!

So yup.. Chloe is now living with her and I try to visit as often as I can, not that she misses me when I am gone cos Emama showers so much love & attention on her, living with her is like heaven compared to living with me when I was still single cos she's always alone at home with no one to play with.

Morganfield's @ Suntec City

Wany wanted to try the ribs at Morganfield's so we went there for dinner! The ambiance is not bad but the food is overpriced.. Chili's is expensive but at least the food quality is good. The food here is so-so only. Ribs are too dry and the sauce was not nice. Meh. This will be our first and last visit here.

Verdict: Not recommended!!

Santi & Welly's Wedding Dinner in Batam!

Welly proposed to Santi during her birthday last September and their wedding dinner was held in Batam on 09 January 2015! My post took so long because I am so busy with work lately. Oops!

We received the official invitation card from them and it was so cute! Like a little door where you can open up. The card is very well made!

They invited a few of our ex-colleagues from CTC but some of them couldn't make it. I was asked by 4 of them to bring angbaos over. The Hello Kitty one is mine, the rest are from my ex-colleagues.

We took the ferry in from Harbourfront and arrived in the early afternoon so we had some time to go shopping and have lunch before the wedding dinner. Brought my sister to the supermarket and she stocked up on what most Singaporean girl will buy in Batam. Sanitary pads. LOL!

The wedding was held at Crown Vista Hotel's New Shangrila restaurant. It is one of the nicest hotels in Batam and it's located on top of a hill so you can have a bird's eye view of Batam from inside the glass lifts.

It is my first wedding dinner in Batam and it's quite different from a Singapore wedding even though they are both Chinese.

The weirdest thing of all (to me), is that there's no assigned seating. It's FREE SEATING! You choose wherever you want to sit. I asked the couple why they don't assign seats? What if there's a group of people who has to split up because there's not enough empty seats at the same table? They told me that the locals don't like to be told where to sit.

(。☉︵ ಠ╬) Don't like to be told where to sit???? Seriously!?!?!

They also told me that not only they don't like to be told where to sit, they won't RSVP at all. On top of being rude (I feel it really rude to not RSVP!), they also don't tell the couple how many people will they be coming with. They might come alone, they might come with their spouse, they might come with their children... or they might not turn out at all! Why like that one!!

I am not sure if it's the norm for all Batam weddings.. I hope not because it's nerve wrecking trying to sort out the guest-list for a wedding dinner and it is really rude not to RSVP. Just let the poor couple know whether you are going a not lah! What if they catered for too many people and have lots of empty tables? What if they did not have enough seats when guests decided to bring their whole kampong with them?

Guests can also go up the stage and sing songs for the couple. Randomly just pick a mic and go up and sing. After the song, the couple has to go up to thank them and give each of them a red packet with money inside.

Wedding favours!

Wishing the happy couple a blessed marriage!

Amos 1st Month celebration

Last month was Amos's 1st month celebration! He is our 2nd cell group baby. His elder brother Asher is our 1st cell group baby. I went to his full month celebration but I am not sure why I did not blog about it! Ah well, I blogged about his 1st year birthday though! :)

(ノ^∇^)
My friend Calin is really talented and she made these lovely buntings for the party!

(-^〇^-) Our present for baby Amos!

We arrived early and the food is already ready! So efficient!

We went early to help with the decorations. Hahaha! I bought the paper and asked the rest to help me fluff it up. Wanted to do it at home but Calin wanted to see how I do it so I brought the paper there to fold and cut to show her.

(。♥‿♥。)
Here's the star! Amos! Sooooo chubby!!

Chinese New Year 2015

Chinese New Year is over! During the first 2 days we went visiting, then the 3rd day we celebrated Cheryl's birthday at Shangri-la. On the 4th day we hosted a gathering at home for some friends at home.

Every year we have to say CNY greetings to Papa & Mama Chew. It has to be purely in Mandarin and we cannot use the same phrases. We also have to use words that is in theme with the year's zodiac. Super stressful cos we are not well versed in Mandarin while both of my parents-in-law were Mandarin educated and they are very smart people. (/.\)

I went to google "Yang" phrases cos it's the year of the Goat.. then I divided up the phrases among the 4 of us so there's no repetition! Hahaha! I did not need the hanyu pinyin cos I can recognize the words. Not noob until damn jialat lah.. I can read most Mandarin words, I just can't write them from memory.

Woke up early to comb my hair properly & put on makeup. Haha!

OOTD for Chinese New year day 1!

New shoes! I love this pair of Melissa. So pretty!!

What's in my bag. All red packets!!

Family picture before heading out for visiting!

On Day 2, I very lamnua. New dress but zero makeup.

With the pretty sisters in law! So happy that I don't look too huge beside them cos they are much smaller sized than me.

Day 4 was at home and we prepared some food for our friends. 2 couples just got married last year so it's their first Chinese New Year as a married couple, while the rest are single so we gave angbaos to everybody!

Machiam like Oprah Winfrey..

On the 7th day we had another family dinner at the airport because I had a flight that night to Tokyo with Wany! I went for a holiday with her from 25th Feb - 8th March. It is our 15th year friendship anniversary trip! I am still consolidating the pictures from our phones & cameras so hopefully I will have the time to blog about it soon.
