Cat & The Fiddle Cheesecake

I have been buying a lot of cakes from Cat & The Fiddle lately.. For birthdays, gatherings, etc. Their cakes are quite affordable and very yummy. Every now and then there's some promotion going on so you can search for coupons online.

The delivery fee is $9.90 per location for orders below $120. We usually go and self-collect cos it's not too far from our place.

Directions to their office can be found on their website. It is very near Tai Seng MRT station.

Happy birthday Le hubby!

I organized a Pineapple themed birthday party for him at Crowne Plaza Changi last week! We had the staycation a week before his actual day cos that's the day that Santi & Welly could make it before they went for their Bali holiday.

On his actual birthday yesterday, I asked him where he want to go and he said "Funan IT Mall". I thought he was joking but he wasn't.

Seriously.... (¬0¬)

We spent hours walking around the mall before he bought a Samsung tab thingy for himself as his birthday present for himself.

Pam & Vincent was there to buy computers too. Pam bought an iMac and Ah V bought a Macbook Pro. Big spenders, we are. Hahahahahaha!

Afterwards we went to buy a cake and went home for dinner with the family. The Chew family's cake of choice is Chocolate Origin (Dark Chocolate). We buy the small one, 15cm for $36. It's enough for 6 to 8 people. Super super yums and it's not too sweet which is perfect. Usually this is the cake we buy for birthday celebrations.

My other favourite cake is the "Fickle Feline"from Cat & The Fiddle. It has 10 different cheesecake flavours in one box and all of them are really good. It's $38.90 for the 10 slices and if you sign up for an account with them you get 5% off. Put in a discount code and you get further 10% discount. I use my sister's school promo code "NUS". After all the discounts it's only around $33. Super worth it. The packaging is really nice too.

After dinner we went out with Nat & Wany for karaoke! We tabao some food and had a mini supper party together!

All of us felt so hip because we stayed out late instead of sleeping.. Being older now means we get tired more easily than a decade ago so if we go out and stay late we feel like it's a great achievement. Hahahahahaha!

[20-September-2015]
The next day we met up again cos Wany want to buy a Macbook Pro to replace her current one which is super old. We went back to Challenger to look for the nice salesgirl cos she wasn't pushy and was super helpful the day before when Pam & Ah V bought their Macs. And they get commission for sales so we want to reward good service! :)

Happy Wany!

Afterwards we went to Liang Court for ramen!

Skirt, W Sentosa

Le hubby said birthdays are never a big deal in his family but ever since we got together, it has become a bigger deal.. especially for the two of us because we don't just have 1 celebration on the actual day but the whole month is full of celebrations! Whee! I love birthdays! To me, it's more of a birth-month than birth-day celebration! LOL!

Well, we just had dinner at The Kitchen Table with his family on Monday and we are back at W Sentosa's Skirt for a romantic dinner just for the two of us.

Remember I have $500 worth of F&B vouchers I have to use up? It's better to use it at Skirt because it has the lower discount compared to The Kitchen Table (which has a 1 for 1 offer at the moment but you cannot use vouchers to pay). Yes, so silly that the vouchers can only be used without the discount... but it is what it is. Do not sign up for the Sip & Indulge membership! Super not worth it! If you wanna know more about it, I blogged about it here.

The interior of the restaurant is so lovely. Super high ceilings, beautiful fixtures and lighting. Service was really good too. Unobtrusive but attentive. Well, considering the price of the food here.. everything better be atas to match the atas pricing.

See how high the ceiling is!

Take picture first with the natural daylight before night falls!
♡^▽^♡

The menu!

There are also the aged meats in their aging cabinet

The manager brought out the special seasonal meats that are not on the menu.

Free flow bread with some spicy oil thingy, olive oil & balsamic vinegar

BBQ Sauce to flavour the beef & Apple Bourbon to freshen your palate

Truffled Potato Puree SGD16++

Sauteed Portobello Mushroom SGD16++

Actually I forgot what we ate.. but it costs over SGD200++.  (´Ð”`Ï…)

Is it worth it? ...... Not really. I prefer Kobe beef or those top grade Japanese Wagyu beef because those melt in my mouth.. Other steaks just pale in comparison. Also, I am not really a steak person.. I don't like eating steak because it's just too much meat on the plate. When I eat a steak, I actually enjoy the side dishes more than the steak. That's why I seldom, if not never go for steak dinners. Le hubby said it's not bad but knowing how much I paid for it, he said it's not worth it.

Oh wells, romantic dinner attempt failed. à¹‘ΘдΘ๑

Next year I will bring him go eat Mcdonald's instead. He's always happy when I accompany him to Mcdonald's cos he is a die hard fan. I am so sick of Mcdonald's from my night shift days cos it is the only place that opens 24hrs and all I ate was Mcdonald's for a year. Every single day. I actually lost weight during that time before our wedding cos I will only eat 1 meal a day since I was always so exhausted from staying up the whole night... so thank God I did not become a fattybombom bride.

Now I eat healthier foods but I am fatter. Ironic hor?

They gave Le hubby a complimentary birthday cake (chocolate mousse) but the one at The Kitchen Table was bigger and nicer. Whyyyyyy ah? #Freeonedonthiam

Le Hubby's birthday dinner | The Kitchen Table

Celebrated Le hubby's birthday with the Chew Family at W Sentosa's The Kitchen Table! They are currently having a 1 for 1 offer for SPG members and Sip & Indulge members so it's a great deal!

They prepared a lovely chocolate lava cake for him!

Pineapple Party at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

♪~♪ d(⌒o⌒)b♪~♪
Happy birthday Le hubby!

His actual birthday is actually next week but because it's the F1 weekend and all the hotels are mad expensive so we celebrated 1 week earlier! My sister asked if I had a theme for the party cos she wanted to bake a cake for him but I couldn't think of any so she suggested a few before we decided on PINEAPPLE!

Sort of random lah but pineapple seems like a fun theme! And the suite I booked at Crowne Plaza Changi has a pool access so it's sort of a beach theme (pretend the swimming pool is the sea lah). The 3 of us arrived early at 11.45am and they allowed us to do an early check-in cos the suite was ready! Yay! And because I am an IHG member, they extended the check-out to 2pm the next day! Woohoo!

Le hubby is blowing up a coconut tree float which I bought a long long time ago for a party but I did not use it then cos the item arrived after the party due to shipment delay. Sian hor? While he was blowing up the float, my sister and I went shopping for food! There are a lot of food options in Changi Airport (best airport in the world!) and we went to Paris Baguette and Four Fingers to tabao food, then NTUC supermarket to buy drinks.

When we came back, the float is ready! So cute right! It's actually quite tall and can fit a small toddler comfortably, so I am keeping it as a mini swimming pool for my future baby. Hahahaha!

While we were preparing the food, Le hubby was blowing up the 2nd float which I borrowed from a friend. I wanted to buy the Swan version but it's so expensive! I cannot justify paying so much for something that I only use once.. And the Flamingo is also super cute (and pink), so ok lah! Heehee! After he blew it up we put it at the entrance to guard the door.

My sis made osmanthus jelly! Yum yum! She stuffed them in the fridge.

Preparing the food for our party guests!

Must take picture! #Flatlay

Stealing a chicken wing to eat cos I was hungry.. LOL!

I was afraid that there's not enough food for 6 people, but as usual my fears were unfounded cos there were some leftovers! Heehee!
